Willa has been playing bagpipes since the age of 11, when her parents, in a fit of madness, gave her a practice chanter for Christmas after she expressed an interest in this beast of an instrument. It was love at first honk. Since then Willa has performed all over North America and the UK, making Edinburgh her permanent home in 2015. She's competed in the World Pipe Band Championships multiple times with various pipe bands and performs solo at events of all kinds ranging from weddings and funerals to Day of the Dead celebrations and corporate events. Alongside the highland pipes, she plays Scottish border pipes and Scottish smallpipes in a variety of groups and settings in the trad world. She's a versatile musician who can also occasionally be found playing bass guitar and singing.
